Sarah had her Christmas Program on Thursday December 18th at First Baptist Weekday School. Ms. Florence was the director. All the children had been working hard for several months to learn the songs and get ready for a great performance. During one song Sarah had a "solo" and when the time came to sing it the timing was off so thankfully Ms. Florence had them start over!! The video is of Sarah's solo part...the mess up and the do over!! All the kids were great and we had a fun time watching. Attending to support Sarah were myself, Byron, Grandma Martha, Tom, and Rufus. Beff had a garden club obligation and was missed. Enjoy the video!

Turkey Day 2008 in Franklin!!
Thanksgiving 2008....what a day. Byron had his first night back to work since his ankle surgery and said that it was a long night and he was tired so off to bed he went when he came in at 7am. I had a rough start to the morning because Sarah had been coughing all night and I was up doing treatments and giving cough medicine. But it was a Thanksgiving miracle that she was much better in the morning and it was a good thing because we were signed up for the 5K Turkey Trot at the YMCA in Franklin. Off we went to Franklin to meet up with Beff and Tom because Tom was walking with us in the Trot. Here we are before the big walk.
Tom and Sarah had on matching hats, thanks to Tom!!
Here we are after the Trot...wearing our matching t-shirts. Sarah's is more like a dress but she can wear it for years to come! I don't look too tired for having carried Sarah on my shoulders for a lot of the walk. She had a melt-down at the end so we had to ditch off the course and walk home. We still had a good time!
Sarah once again took over the camera and took several pics. She could be a photographer one day! Here is her self-portrait.
After watching the Marching Royal Dukes in the Macy's parade, we got cleaned up and went out to eat for a great Thanksgiving lunch. The coat that Sarah is wearing is one that Mom saved from when I wore it as a child. Love the nostalgia.
Here is Sarah with Beff and Tom.
Lastly another picture from Sarah. You can see that Mom and I are giving her directions instead of smiling like she told us to!

The twins and Parker visit Franklin!
We had a great visit with Parker, Elisabeth, and Ellie when they came to stay with Mom and Dad for the weekend. Sarah really enjoyed the girls and wanted to be a helper with feeding and changing. She did better with not being the center of attention at Beff Tom's house although she was devastated that she was not able to spend the night. We had a good time waving at the train when it went by and walking along the railroad finding cool rocks. It was such a nice day after the rain stopped that Sarah got to play outside for a while. We had a great time and can't wait for Christmas when we get to get to spend time with them again!!!

Halloween!!!!!
We had a great time trick or treating...the tradition to go over to Keith and Semetrius' house to trick or treat with little Keith continued. The moms walked with the kids and Byron and Keith handed out the candy! Afterwards we had a peice of pizza and the kids ran around like maniacs. We had a blast!!
On a different note I am so glad to report that yesterday Byron started walking without his crutches. It has been three weeks since his ankle surgery and he has been making progress in his physical therapy!! Yay!!!

Sarah after the pumpkin carving...she picked the shapes for the eyes, nose, and mouth!

The carver had to get in on the pics!

The trick or treating crew!!!

Busy Sunday!
We had a very busy day today...first church, then we went to see a musical, "Seussical" at the Suffolk Cultural Arts Center and then we went to the Harvest Festival at church! We met Howie and his mom after church and had a "Green Eggs and Ham" brunch before the play. We had a great time!!! The Harvest Festival was a lot of fun and Sarah enjoyed the haunted house! She is much more brave than I am!!!

Sarah and Howie pose!

I asked them to put their arms around each other and smile....Clearly Sarah got into it!

Cheers!!!

Let the Halloween events begin!!!
Well the first of several Halloween events was last night at the YMCA. We met up with Sarah's good friend from school, Howie and his mom, Jill. They had a great time and even went through the "fun house" which was not so much fun as scarey!!! They survived!! Here are some pics of them and note the one with the Chik-fil-a cow...they were loving on him all night!

Sick!
Just a quick note to say that we are fighting the wheezies and coughs! Sarah has been taking her treatments like a champ and her pediatrition called in some orapred for her to help ease her breathing. Hoping both of us will get some sleep tonight. We had to miss church because of her breathing and she was very sad. She said later, "do you think my church friends missed me?" I assured her that they did :).

Broke down and got a blog!
This will be a great place to keep track of all our adventures and even the boring moments of everyday life! We are enjoying raising a sassy, fiesty, loving, smart 4 year old! She keeps us on our toes and asks the most interesting questions. Being a parent is tough but thankfully each day brings a chance to improve and do things differently!
Thanks for checking us out!!!
Here is the star of our family!!!
